Manchester City preview

ROY Keane's first ever cup win as a manager came at a cost with several key players leaving the City Ground with injuries on Wednesday night. Steed Malbranque's twisted ankle is not expected to recover in time for the visit of Manchester City on Sunday, while Richardson, Cisse and Healy are all doubts.

New boy Anton Ferdinand is not expected to make his debut until the after the international break because of hamstring problems sustained whilst at 'Wist Am'.

Manchester City will hopefully be feeling the effects of a midweek game after travelling to the land of Lego for a UEFA Cup qualifying match. City scraped through on penalties against Danish giants FC Midtjylland. (Who?)

City have had their fair share of problems off the field this summer, but have signed some decent players in Jo, Komapny and Wright-Phillips. And under 'Sparky Hughes' I expect them to do reasonably well this season. Somewhere between 9th and 12th would be a good season for Mancs.

Sparky will bring a team to the Stadium of Light looking to pick up their first away points since the last time they were up here back in April. Our team is far stronger than it was back then, and even with a few injury worries I am expecting Sunderland to pick up all three points.

Hopefully the lads in red 'n' white will put in another battling performance like the ones at Spurs and Forest and pick up the points, which will see us achieve our best ever start to a Premiership season.

My preferred line up: (Taking into account Malbranque, Richardson, and Tanio are all injured)

Prediction: 1-0 to the Lads.

Hope your expectation comes true. As for your preferred line up I don't think Leadbitter has enougn pace or strength to do a good job. But let's see what Roy decides.

p.s. City also seem to me like a mid-table outfit.

Well how wrong was I?

I would never start with Leadbitter in midfield if other players were fit, and he showed me why with that performance yesterday. Bit of a bonus Ricahrdson and Malbranque being fit aswell.

Think Man City are looking a decent team, they showed us how to play football today. Not too worried about this result, hopefully a one off. Keano, sign a left back!!
