So, that's it then...

The transfer window is now officially closed. We can now all go back to doing our jobs without the added distraction of looking at skysports.com every five minutes.

We will no longer receive any text messages from mates who think they are 'in the know', saying that we are signing players like Crespo and Van Nistelrooy. In fact the next few months are going to be boring.... GET THE WINDOW OPEN AGAIN!!!!!

Keano and Quinny have done extremely well to bring in the players they have, and until January at least, this will be the team that will hopefully improve on last seasons finish.

Ok, there might not have been any major 'WOW' signings, but the players that have been brought in are all Premiership quality, and will improve the squad massively.

Which of the new signings have impressed you the most? I have put my top eight in order below.

Top Summer Signings

1) Steed Malbranque
2) Djibril Cisse
3) El Hadji Diouf
4) George McCartney
5) Teemu Tanio
6) Pascal Chimbonda
7) Anton Ferdinand
8) David Healy

Strongest Team

Lets assume everyone is fit. Who would be in your starting eleven? Here is mine...

League table predictions

It's not easy predicting the final league table (well apart from the top four). But I've put a table together based on summer signings and what I've seen so far.

The top four never seem to change, and I can't see this year being any exception. Ok, Man City have bought Robinho (and seem to have more money than the rest of Premiership teams put together), but he is only one player. By the time the January window opens it might be too late for City to buy themselves a top 4 finish. I hope so.

Therefore, I'm sticking with the usual top four and Aston Villa for the Uefa Cup spot. However, Man City, Everton and Pompey will all be fighting Villa for very hard for the final European spot.

Tottenham is a hard one. Not the best start to the season for Spurs but they have signed Modric, Bentley, Pavlyuchenko, Corluka and Campbell. If these players come good, then, they too could be pushing for a European spot.

It's a bit of lottery for the rest of the teams. The Premiership is a long season and squad size plays an important part later on in the season when injuries and suspensions start to hit teams.

Sunderland have a big squad now, there will be plenty of competition for places, and back up for injured players. That's why I've gone for a top ten finish for Sunderland. (OK, I'm biased as well!)

Middlesbrough have impressed me in their opening games and I can see them having a good season, providing Afonso 'Goal Machine' Alves lives up to his nick name.

Blackburn, West Ham and Newcastle have all sold some of their better players this summer and that is why I have them down here. (OK, again, I'm biased as well)

I think the final six teams will be the ones fighting in the relegation battle. For some reason, (un be-known to be) I think Hull will survive by the skin of their teeth, and Bolton, Stoke, and West Brom will be relegated. Not a moment too soon for Bolton.

Obviously some team will surprise everyone else by finishing higher or lower than anyone could have imagined. But the beauty of football is, no matter how hard we try, we never truly know what is going to happen.
