ROY KEANE refused to rise to the bait after Arsene Wenger criticised Sunderland for being too defensive.

Keane saw no need to defend his approach - and the fact Wenger left the Stadium of Light thanking his lucky stars to have taken a point should have made the Arsenal boss a little more generous towards his counterpart.

Make no mistake, even at this early stage of the season, Arsenal's title hopes would have been hanging by a thread had Sunderland managed to hang on to their lead for just an extra 90 seconds.

Substitute Grant Leadbitter's stunning strike had put the Black Cats in front five minutes from time, and it needed Arsenal's Spanish midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas to rescue the Gunners deep into injury-time.
