THERE'S a fella down my local supports Sunderland. At least, I thought he supported Sunderland.
Now, I'm not so sure. Not after his reaction to defeat by West Ham last Sunday night.
"We'd be better off getting Mick McCarthy back than keeping Roy Keane," he said.
I laughed. He, clearly deadly serious -- if several sheets to the wind -- didn't.

NYRON NOSWORTHY is aiming to celebrate a decade in professional football with a Sunderland victory against Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.
It was 10 years ago today Nosworthy made his debut as a raw 18-year-old for Gillingham, coming on as a first-half substitute to help the Gills to a 1-0 win against Fulham at the Priestfield Stadium.
The defender is hoping to mark his personal milestone by helping the Wearsiders end their run of three successive home defeats.
CARLOS Edwards believes the "kick in the teeth" of being sent on loan helped him get his head right after a poor start to the campaign.
The Trinidad and Tobago international has had to deal with his fair share of setbacks in the last two seasons through injury and loss of form, but believes his tough military upbringing helped him emerge from them.
The 20-year-old spent six weeks with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. But now, for possibly the first time since the Black Cats were promoted to the Premier League a year-and-a-half ago, Edwards has told fans they will finally see the best of him again.
ANDY REID says there are no easy rides in what is now officially the tightest Premier League on record.
Sunderland are perched precariously just one place and one point above the relegation zone after their home defeat against West Ham at the weekend in a game they should have won.
With a spread of just three points between the Black Cats in 17th place and Fulham in ninth, there is no need to panic.
But it means the pressure will be back on when Bolton - who are one of four sides just two points ahead of Sunderland - come to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
AUSTRALIAN League side Newcastle Jets were last night hoping to persuade Dwight Yorke to effectively end his Sunderland career as El-Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda played to prolong theirs.
As the out-of-favour summer signings were turning out for the Black Cats' reserves against Sheffield United, the Jets were waiting for news on Yorke's future.
Owner Con Constantine revealed the Jets have been in discussions with the 37-year-old about a temporary deal to return to the league where he played before joining Sunderland.
SUNDERLAND outcast Rade Prica insists he has no regrets at moving to Wearside.
The Sweden international striker cost £2m when he joined the Black Cats from Danish champions Aalborg in January.
He made a terrific start, scoring on his debut after coming on as a substitute against Birmingham City.
However, he only made a handful of substitute appearances in the remainder of last season, and there was talk of him returning to Scandinavia less than six months after he arrived in England.
ROY Keane is considering trying to offload Greg Halford six months before his loan deal at Sheffield United expires as he considers ways to raise funds for the January transfer window.
The Black Cats boss is unlikely to find fresh funds sanctioned by the club's board unless he manages to offset the expenditure by selling more players - but with Pascal Chimbonda apparently digging his heels in over a January move, his options look limited.
Keane has insisted that the French defender has a chance to resurrect his Sunderland career if he remedies the disciplinary problems that have dogged him since his summer transfer but The Journal understands Chimbonda has been told he can leave if he can find a new club.
DEAN WHITEHEAD says Sunderland must turn the cramped Premier League table to their advantage.
With a third of the season now gone, this season's Premier League - outside the top six - has proved to be the closest and most competitive ever.
That means the Black Cats go into Sunday's home game against West Ham knowing that they could be just one win away from breaking into the top eight - or one defeat away from slipping into the relegation zone.
DANNY Collins has warned Sunderland's defenders they will have to try and ignore Craig Bellamy's wind-up tactics against West Ham.
Bellamy may have mellowed a little with old age when compared to his Brat Pack days at Newcastle, but Collins insists his Wales team-mate remains the Hammers dangerman when they visit the Stadium of Light this weekend.
As one of the most talkative players in the Premier League, Collins knows defending against Bellamy is a unique challenge as he warned his Black Cats colleagues not to get sucked into an argument with the feisty forward. "Craig is his own type of character and you have to be aware of that," said Collins, who has been on the receiving end of plenty of Bellamy tongue lashings during their time together with Wales. "Craig is probably the loudest man in football. He's always moaning and if you're ready for it, it can be a bit off-putting.
