Cattermole hopes break will help recovery

LEE CATTERMOLE hopes a fortnight's rest during the international break will clear up his troublesome heel injury once and for all.

The Sunderland midfielder has been playing with a bruised heel for some time and a course of injections have failed to solve the problem.

Cattermole played through pain as he completed the full 90 minutes at Manchester United last Saturday but pulled out of the England Under-21 squad ahead of tonight's European Championship qualifier to give the injury time to heal naturally.
